Position Summary

The Bartender at Haven is responsible for delivering an elevated guest experience through exceptional beverage preparation, professional service, and hospitality excellence. This role requires strong cocktail knowledge, attention to detail, speed, cleanliness, and the ability to create a welcoming and upscale atmosphere while maintaining Haven’s luxury service standards.

The bartender represents the energy, culture, and sophistication of Haven and plays a major role in guest satisfaction, guest retention, and overall venue atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

Welcome guests warmly and professionally.
Create a memorable luxury hospitality experience for every guest.
Engage confidently with guests while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wines, spirits, champagne, and menu pairings.
Anticipate guest needs and maintain high attention to detail.
Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Maintain composure during high volume service periods.

Beverage Preparation

Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Haven recipes and standards.
Execute classic cocktails, signature cocktails, premium bottle service, and specialty drinks consistently.
Ensure all drinks are presented with precision, garnish accuracy, and proper glassware.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
Monitor drink quality before serving.
Follow all beverage measurement and portion-control standards.

Bar Operations

Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times.
Prepare daily mise en place before service.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages immediately.
Assist with stock rotation and proper storage procedures.
Ensure bar equipment is clean and functioning properly.
Follow opening and closing procedures accurately.
Assist with receiving and organizing beverage deliveries.

Sales & Upselling

Maximize beverage sales through confident upselling techniques.
Promote premium spirits, wine selections, champagne, and signature cocktails.
Encourage repeat business by building strong guest relationships.
Maintain strong product knowledge of all menu items and beverage offerings.

Hygiene & Safety

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
Ensure the bar area meets Haven cleanliness standards throughout service.
Comply with Curaçao alcohol service laws and responsible serving practices.
Report hazards, breakages, or incidents immediately.
Handle glassware and equipment safely.

Teamwork & Professionalism

Work closely with servers, runners, hosts, kitchen staff, and management.
Support team members during busy operations.
Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional attitude.
Attend training sessions and staff meetings.
Uphold Haven grooming, uniform, and presentation standards at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, lounge, upscale bar, or hospitality venue preferred.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and mixology techniques.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and late night shifts.
Cash handling and POS system experience preferred.
